Approximately 270,000 residents of Gaza City were forced to leave their homes under the pressure of Israeli bombardment since the launch of a deadly operation in mid-August, the Gaza Government Media Office reported.
Meanwhile, reverse displacements were also recorded, with more than 22,000 people returning to their original areas within Gaza City by Saturday afternoon, with many returning as they cannot secure the most basic necessities in the south.
The office also confirmed that 900,000 Palestinians “remain steadfast in Gaza City and the north, categorically refusing to be displaced to the south.”
