US regional military sources not informed of Israeli attack

Al Jazeera is citing "American military sources in the region" as saying that they were not informed in advance of the Israeli attack on Doha.

They added that they cannot speak to whether the White House was aware of the attack.

Washington has yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack. Its embassy in Doha reported in a post on social media that it had seen “reports of missile strikes occurring” in the Qatari capital, and that it had instituted  "a shelter-in-place order for their facilities".

Israeli Channel 12 reported earlier that the attack had been approved by US President Donald Trump.
