Pakistan and Turkey condemn Israeli raid on Gaza aid flotilla

Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s interception of dozens of Gaza-bound boats in the Sumud Flotilla, describing it as a “dastardly attack”.

“We hope and pray for the safety of all those who have been illegally apprehended by Israeli forces and call for their immediate release. Their crime was to carry aid for the hapless Palestinian people,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said.

Turkey's Foreign Ministry also denounced the naval raid, calling it a “terrorist” act.

Earlier this week, flight tracking data showed Turkey, along with Spain, Italy and Greece, monitoring the flotilla’s journey.
