Netanyahu orders Rafah crossing to stay shut until further notice

The Israeli prime minister’s office says Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered that the Rafah crossing remain closed “until further notice”.

A statement from his office says any decision to reopen the crossing will depend on “the manner in which Hamas fulfils its part in the return of the deceased hostages and in implementing the agreed-upon framework”.

Earlier, the Palestinian embassy in Cairo said Palestinians living in Egypt would be permitted to return to Gaza through Rafah beginning Monday.
