Israeli military says it intercepted missile launched from Yemen
The Israeli military said it had intercepted a missile fired from Yemen early on Sunday.
"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted," it said. "Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol."
Yemen's Houthis have frequently sent missiles or drones towards Israel, in what they have said is an act of solidarity with Palestinians under Israeli bombardment.
While the vast majority of the missiles and drones have been shot down, a few have landed in Israeli territory.
Last month, a Houthi drone attack evaded Israeli air defences and wounded 22 people in the tourist resort of Eilat.
Israel then bombed the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, killing at least nine people and wounding more than 170.
