Israeli forces assault Fatah secretary, detain family in Salfit
Israeli forces assaulted Nader Abu Bakr, secretary of the Fatah movement in Marda, north of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, during a dawn raid on his home on Wednesday, Wafa news agency reported, citing his family.
Family members said Abu Bakr was severely beaten and required transfer to Salfit Governmental Hospital for treatment. The soldiers reportedly vandalised the house.
Relatives were detained in a room while Abu Bakr was subjected to several hours of field questioning, the family said. Israeli forces also seized around 300 shekels (about $80) in cash and a gold bracelet.
The military also detained former prisoner Majdi Rateb al-Dik and his 16-year-old son Qusay after raiding and searching and vandalising their home in the town of Kafr al-Dik, west of Salfit, the report said.
