The Israel Football Association (IFA) is working to prevent a vote at the Union of European Football Associations (Uefa) on suspension of Israel from all football competitions over its genocidal war in Gaza, Israeli media have reported.
The vote is expected to take place at a Uefa Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday.
The IFA told Israeli media they “are working on it on all fronts” to block the vote, Israel Hayom daily reported.
Israel Hayom and Channel 12 reported that Qatar, one of the biggest donors to Uefa, was pushing for the vote to be held.
The report added that the motion is seen as “certain to pass” since only two or three of the 20 voting countries are opposed to Israel’s ouster.
