EU foreign policy chief Kaya Kallas on Monday said that the political and economic union of 27 member states of Europe will consider imposing sanctions on Israel, Al Jazeera has reported.
“All European countries support the two-state solution,” Kallas said, adding that recognising a Palestinian state is an individual decision for each state.
“We seek to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Next month, we will discuss imposing sanctions on Israel,” he added.
France and other countries are prepared to recognise a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, following recognition by the UK, Australia and Canada on Sunday.
